Union Home Minister & BJP President Amit Shah addresses gathering in Delhi after polls results in Haryana and Maharashtra. He said, "In Maharashtra, BJP-Shiv Sena is going to form the govt once again with majority. In Haryana have seen a 3% increase in our vote share since the last time and we have emerged as the largest party there, I thank the people for this."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday thanked the people of Haryana for blessing them in the Assembly Elections 2019. "I thank the people of Haryana for blessing us. We will continue to work with the same zeal and dedication for the state’s progress. I laud the efforts of hardworking BJP Karyakartas who toiled extensively and went among the people to elaborate on our development agenda", PM Modi tweeted.

In Haryana, the ruling BJP is six seats short of the majority mark to form a government. Reports inform that incumbent Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has staked claim to form the government. 

According to official trends by the Election Commission of India (ECI), the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won in 16 constituencies and is currently leading in 22 constituencies in Haryana. Meanwhile, the Congress has won in 13 constituencies and is leading in 20 seats.

According to reports, Gopal Kanda, Haryana Lokhit Party leader, who was accused of rape with a flight attendant, has won from the seat of Sirsa by 602 votes. In the 2014 Haryana Assembly elections, Makhan Lal Singla of INLD won in this seat. In  candidate by a margin of 2938 votes which was 2.04% of the total votes polled in the constituency. INLD had a vote share of 32.3% in 2014 in the seat. In 2009, Kanda had won the seat by defeating the INLD candidate.

Champion wrestler and BJP candidate Babita Phogat lost from the Dadri  Assembly Constituency in Haryana. Phogat lost to Independent candidate Sombir by nearly 20,000 votes. "I thank people who supported me. The kind of respect they gave me, I am thankful for it", the wrestler said. 

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar is leading in Karnal assembly seat by 41,950 votes. Congress' Tarlochan Singh is trailing. According to details by Election Commission of India (ECI), Khattar is leading in the Karnal seat by 79308 votes, while his arch rival Tarlochan Singh was trailing with 34440 votes. Haryana Assembly Election Results 2019:  Party-wise Trend at 2.30 pm

Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) Chief Dushyant Chautala has won the Jannayak Uchana Kalan assembly constituency. Chautala defeated his nearest rival, Prem Lata of BJP.

As per the official trends by the Election Commission, BJP is leading on 39 seats, Congress on 33 seats out of the total 90 seats in the state.

DS Hooda, Congress: Today, it’s clear that people’s mandate is to throw off Khattar’s govt. I want to ask Dushyant Chautala (JJP), independent candidates & other parties to come together and form coalition govt in Haryana so that people’s mandate can be respected. 

Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala, who was leading earlier, lost from the Kaithal constituency. Surjewala lost to BJP candidate Shri Lila Lal Gurjar. The term of the Haryana assembly ends on November 2.

Congress veteran and former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda won the from his stronghold Garhi Sampla-Kiloi in Rohtak district. Earlier today, Meanwhile, two-time former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda had expressed confidence that Congress would emerge victorious.  "The Jannayak Janata Party and Indian National Lok Dal are not factors, the contest is between Congress and the BJP only and the Congress will get the majority," Hooda had said in Rohtak.

Former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Thursday addressed media and invited all parties in the state to form an anti-BJP government in the state. "The time has come for Congress, JJP, INLD, and independents to come together to form a strong government.", Hooda said. 

Olympic bronze medalist and BJP candidate Yogeshwar Dutt has lost from his seat in Baroda. Dutt was fielded by the BJP against Congress’ sitting MLA Sri Kishen. In the 2014 polls in the state, the Congress leader, who is Congress’ current sitting MLA, had won the Baroda seat despite the BJP's magnificient feat in the state. 

Sonali Phogat, a BJP candidate and famous TikTok star, failed to lure voters and lost from the Adampur constituency. Phogat lost to Congress leader Kuldeep Bishnoi, a three-time sitting legislator from the constituency and son of former Chief Minister late Bhajan Lal.

According to trends by the Election Commission of India (ECI), the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) continued to lead in 35 seats, Congress ahead in 35 seats while Dushyant Chautala's Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) is leading in 10 seats.

BJP Haryana President Subhash Batala has resigned from his post. The BJP is unlikely to touch the majority mark in Haryana, according to trends.

Champion wrestler and BJP candidate Babita Phogat is leading with a margin of 2387 votes in Dadri assembly constituency in Haryana. Earlier today, Phogat was confident of winning from Dadri assembly constituency. said she was confident of winning from Dadri assembly constituency. "We prepare for four years to win medals at the Olympics. Today is the same day when I am waiting for results. People have given me love and support, that is my strength, and what keeps me going. I have faith in public and myself, people will give blessings to their daughter," Babita Phogat told news agency ANI.

Earlier in the day, Chautala on reports of Congress offering him CM post said that he has not had any discussions with any one. "Decision will be taken only after the final numbers are out", Chautala was quoted by ANI.

According to trends at 12 noon, the BJP was leading in 43 seats, Congress in 28 and the kingmaker Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) in 11.

According to a tweet by ANI, Congress Interim President Sonia Gandhi has spoken to Senior Congress leader and former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and has taken a stock of latest political situation.

Kumari Selja, Haryana Congress Chief expressed confidence of getting majority and forming government in Haryana. Taking to Twitter, Selja said that Haryana has given the verdict which says it will not tolerate the misgovernance  of the BJP any more. "Choosing to leave behind the maladies inflicted on its people in last 5 years,the state is ready to embrace a new dawn of justice &equality under the leadership of @INCHaryana", she tweeted.

Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda, two-time former Haryana Chief Minister, has expressed confidence that Congress would emerge victorious. As per trends, Hooda is leading from Garhi Sampla-Kiloi constituency while Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala is trailing from the Kaithal constituency.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has been called to Delhi by BJP President Amit Shah. According to reports, there are also speculation that the saffron party is planning to approach Chautala, who has emerged as the kingmaker in the assembly elections.

JJP's Dushyant Chautala has emerged as the kingmaker in Haryana elections, as per initial trends. According to ANI, Chautala said the '75 paar' slogan has failed for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). "Haryana ki janta ka pyar mil raha hai. Badlaav ki nishaani hai. 75 paar toh fail hogaya (for BJP), ab Yamuna paar karne ki baari hai", Chautala said.

According to latest trends, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Babita Phogat is leading from Dadri assembly constituency while another BJP candidate Sudhir Singla leading by 4,600 votes in Gurugram.

According to initial trends, there is a tight contest between ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress in Haryana. The counting of votes is currently underway in Haryana. Incumbent Chief Minister and BJP candidate Manohar Lal Khattar, who is contesting from Karnal assembly seat in Haryana, is currently leading with 4588 votes after first round of counting.

Dushyant Chautala, the Chief of Jannayak Janata Party (JJP), says the keys of power is in the hands of his party, reports ANI. “Neither BJP nor Congress will cross the 40 seats mark. According to initial trends, Congress is leading on one seat, whereas the BJP is ahead in 2 constituencies. According to reports, the BJP and Congress are engaged in a neck-to-neck fight in the Haryana assembly polls. The counting of votes for the 90-member Assembly in Haryana began at 8 am on Thursday, October 24 amid tight security. The final result is expected to be announced by 5 pm in the evening. In Haryana, the Manohar Lal Khattar-led BJP government, which is in power in the state is the first choice of people in the state. 

During the polling held on October 21, the polling percentage dropped in both Haryana and Maharashtra compared to the last assembly polls. According to data released by the Election Commission on Tuesday, the two states have recorded a voting percentage of 68.47 and 61.2 respectively in the polling.  Haryana had seen a high voter turnout of 76. 54 per cent during the 2014 assembly polls.

Counting of votes in Haryana assembly election will begin at 8 AM. The BJP is  looking to retain power in the state after exit polls that indicate an easy victory.  Reports inform that the electronic voting machines (EVMs) and the VVPAT paper trail machines used in Monday’s polling are kept at 90 strongrooms set up at 59 different locations. 

Along with Haryana, counting of votes will also take place in Maharashtra. The term of the 288-member Maharashtra assembly ends on November 9 and that of the 90-member Haryana assembly on November 2. On October 21, a total of 65 percent voter turnout was recorded in the state. Nearly 1.83 crore voters in Haryana turned out on October to elect 90 members to the state Assembly amidst minor skirmishes and snags in electronic voting machines (EVMs).

In Haryana, the outgoing assembly has 48 BJP MLAs, while the Congress has 15 MLAs and the OP Chautala-led INLD has 19 legislators. In the recently concluded Lok Sabha Elections  2019, the BJP had won all 10 Lok Sabha seats.

The counting of votes for the 90-member Assembly in Haryana will begin around 8 am on Thursday, October 24. The final result is expected to be announced by 5 pm in the evening. In Haryana, counting centre has been set up in each of the 90 assembly constituencies.
