Who is Sharmila Faruqui?

Faruqui, who holds a PhD in Law and comes from a distinguished political family in Sindh, is married to Hashaam Riaz Sheikh, a former investment banker turned media tycoon. The couple, who married in 2015 with much fanfare, have a son who appears in the viral Disneyland photo with Mukesh Ambani.

Faruqui's background includes a brief stint in showbiz, including a role in the TV serial "Panchwa Mausam," before her political career. Her family boasts significant political and bureaucratic influence, with her maternal grandfather being a former finance minister and her father a bureaucrat.
