Mumbai, August 24: The rumours of Russia President Vladimir Putin being "terminally ill" are flying again after he appeared to have forgotten what wrist he placed his watch on during an important Kremlin meeting. The sharp eyes of people did not miss when Vladimir Putin checked the wrong wrist, leading to accusations of him using "body doubles." Vladimir Putin attended a Russian Council for Strategic Development and National Projects meeting when the blunder occurred.
The Daily Star reported the proof that Putin utilised a body double during the meeting was evident because the alleged "body double" repeatedly tried to check the time by looking at his left wrist instead of his right. The report stated that the Russian President has always worn watches on his right arm, giving weightage to Telegram conspiracy theorists' claim of Vladimir Putin's "body double" use. The General SVR, an anti-Putin Telegram channel, also questioned whether Putin employed a body double for his appearance at the Kremlin meeting earlier this week. "The real Putin would never try to look at the time on the hand where he does not wear a watch and would not be surprised at the absence of a watch on his left hand. He always wears them on his right hand," the channel claimed. The channel has long claimed that Putin is dealing with a terminal illness and is now dependent on body doubles to carry out his public engagements in his place.
