Washington, July 1: A shocking incident of alleged murder has come to light from Indiana, United States, where a son has been accused of strangling his mother to death after she served him an eviction notice. The deceased, Shanelle Burns (43), an employee of the Loyola University Chicago, reportedly served an eviction notice to her son Conner Kobold, who is now 20 years old.

According to a report in People, Burns filed the eviction notice against her son on February 5, when he was 19 years old. The same day, the police responded to a call of assault after Conner Kobold called 911 multiple times. When the police arrived at the spot, they found a woman with "serious injuries", who was later identified as Burns. As per reports, authorities investigating the case determined that Burns was strangled to death. As per the charging documents, Kobold had 30 days to get a job for himself and clean his room, among other things, to avoid eviction. Although he has pleaded not guilty, Kobold has been charged with murder in connection with the death of his mother Shanelle Burns.

A trial in the case is scheduled to begin in August. At present, Kobold is being held in the Porter County Jail. It is also reported that Kobold filed a waiver to represent himself in February. However, an online court docket states that he was appointed a public defender in April. On the other hand, Conner Kobold's LinkedIn page stated that he began studying at the United States Merchant Marine Academy in 2022.
