Bakersfield, November 26: In another case of sporadic attacks, at least two people were injured after a shooting took place at Valley Plaza Mall in Bakersfield. According to reports, two groups of people were fighting with each other when a man pulled the trigger. The suspect is at large and police are on the lookout for the culprit. According to eyewitnesses, the man appeared to be of African-American origin.
The incident took place around 6 pm near the food court area and the injured were taken to Kern Medical with moderate injuries. Videos on social media showed people screaming for help and running everywhere. According to a Mercury News report, this mall has seen violence before as well. In 2005, a man was killed two days after Christmas after a gang-related shooting broke out at the mall. It had created extreme panic at that moment as well. The culprit was convicted of murder and sentenced to life.
