The man shared to the cops that he and his wife had been separated for months and were in the process of getting a divorce.
He said he had changed the locks at his home, but keys and other items had recently gone missing, suspecting his wife had taken them.
Pasqualetto told the police that she didn’t want a divorce and shot him while he was in bed. The wounded man then fought her off so he could get out of the house, police said.
He called 911 from his neighbor’s house, police said. He told police his estranged wife had also stolen checks from him, forged his signature and withdrew $10,000, police said.
Police said they found a deposit slip in her purse, and she admitted to stealing and forging the check.
