Washington, August 5: President Trump has ordered that American flags at the White House and government buildings be flown at half-mast in memory of the victims of the mass shootings over the weekend in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio. Along with all the government offices, Trump’s order will also apply to military bases, embassies, naval vessels and other facilities abroad. The order is in place until sunset Thursday, Aug. 8. The President in a tweet said, "Our nation mourns with those whose loved ones were murdered in the tragic shootings … and we share in the pain and suffering of all those who were injured in these two senseless attacks."
He further added, "Today’s shooting in El Paso, Texas, was not only tragic, but it was also an act of cowardice. I know that I stand with everyone in this Country to condemn today’s hateful act. There are no reasons or excuses that will ever justify killing innocent people. Melania and I send our heartfelt thoughts and prayers to the great people of Texas."

A shooter killed 20 and wounded 26 people on Saturday at a Walmart in El Paso. Early Sunday morning, a gunman opened fired in an entertainment district in Dayton, killing nine people and wounding 27.
These shooting incidents came just less than a week after a gunman opened fired at a California food festival. In the California shooting three people were reportedly killed. A 19-year-old gunman was identified as Santino William Legan. He was armed with deadly AK-47. Legan was gunned down by police within one minute of launching the attack.
