Washington DC, July 21: A 34-year-old man from Arkansas, United States, was recently sentenced to 60 years in prison for killing his girlfriend's young son. The accused, Nathan Bridges, was awarded a jail term after he pleaded guilty to the murder of 5-year-old Blu Rolland, whom he killed in 2022. Bridges also said that he had buried Rolland's body under the floorboards of their family home.

Bridges was charged with first-degree murder and first-degree battery in Blu Rolland's murder case. According to a report in People, the murder incident came to light on December 16, 2022, when Rolland's body was found under the floorboards of the Moro, Ark., home, which was located about 85 miles east of Little Rock. After the incident, officials of Arkansas State Police said that the minor boy died of injuries which he likely sustained at home three months ago. However, an arrest affidavit revealed that Rolland was drowned in a toilet in the home before his body was buried under the floorboards at the home. The affidavit also stated that Rolland's mother, Ashley Rolland, told her father that her son died at home.

She also confessed to her father that Roland's remains were buried under the newly nailed floorboards. As per the affidavit claims, Ashley told her father that Blu collapsed and died. Deputies also got a foul smell when they sifted through the top layer of soil. When questioned, Rolland claimed that her son died in September after he bit Bridges' finger. The affidavits stated that Bridges stuck Blu's head into the toilet until he drowned as a punishment. Following this, both Ashley and Bridges were arrested in connection with Blu's murder. Meanwhile, Ashley is awaiting trial in connection with the case.
