Washington DC, October 19: An Arkansas doctor allegedly accused of sexual harassment can no longer practice medicine in the US State after he was suspended over allegations of sexual conduct and sexual harassment. The doctor's suspension comes after allegations of sexual abuse were brought to the Arkansas State Medical Board's attention on July 17.
It is alleged that the doctor, identified as David Diffine, allegedly had sex with his staff at his clinic. The emergency order states that David Diffine engaged in sexual conduct and sexually harassed his staff, who are also said to be his patients, reports FOX13. While suspending Diffine, the medical board of Arkansas said that a video from a security camera installed inside Diffine's clinic allegedly caught the sexual conduct and harassment. The board also stated that Diffine was caught on camera having sex with a staff member while other members of the staff stood and watched the act. It is also reported that the Arkansas doctor was seen walking naked in his clinic. While Diffine has been suspended on an emergency basis, a disciplinary hearing will be held to determine if the Arkansas doctor can practice medicine in the US State or not in future.
Dr Bradley Diner of the Arkansas Medical Foundation, who saw the CCTV footage of the sexual harassment, said that the "perverse behavior leads to concerns about a sexual compulsive disorder or paraphilia". Diner further stated that Diffine's interaction with his staff members suggests an entanglement in his medical practice. "Given these additional concerns, I would recommend that he have a more formal professional evaluation for safety to practice," he added.
