Washington, July 26: In a latest on United States-China trade war, US President Donald Trump on Friday said that no traffic waivers will be given to the Apple Inc for new Mac Pro parts that are made in China. He said that if the parts will be made in the USA it would not carry any traffic. This development comes after the technology company requested Trump administration to exclude parts for its new Mac Pro from import tariffs. Previously, Trump has promised relief to the companies who shift production from China to US. Trump had tweeted that they won't face traffic of they make their parts “at home in the USA.” Trump had encouraged Apple CEO Tim Cook to move operations to the US, Larry Kudlow, Trump’s chief economic adviser (CEA), told media on Friday at White House.
On May, China said that it may impose 25 per cent traffic on US products in retaliation against Trump's plan to increase tariffs on goods imported from China. Products like the AirPods and Apple Watch have reportedly been exempt from tariffs before. In June. Apple in a letter to the US Trade Representative said that the trade war would impact the company's ability to compete globally.
