Michigan, September 23: A 2-year-old Michigan girl wandered away from her home with the family’s two dogs – and was found hours later sleeping peacefully in the woods while using one of the pets as a pillow while the other kept watch over her. The two-year-old girl had wandered away from her family home in the US state's Upper Peninsula, accompanied by the dogs.

After the girl disappeared, her family got in touch with the local police. They launched a search operation that also included drones and police dogs. After several hours missing, the girl was found asleep by authorities using the smaller dog of the two as a pillow. Cops said at about midnight, a person riding an ATV discovered Thea about 3 miles away. "She laid down and used one of the dogs as a pillow, and the other dog laid right next to her and kept her safe," lieutenant Mark Giannunzio said, as per the New York Post. As far as the police investigation, authorities don't believe foul play or negligence played any part in the whole ordeal. Her mother, Brooke, said that she was filled with utter relief when she was told that Thea had been found safe and well.    

Thea was checked by medical staff after her canine adventure and appeared to be in good health, according to Giannunzio.

Faithorn is an unincorporated village located just east of the Wisconsin state line and about 60 miles southwest of Marquette, Michigan.
