New Delhi, July 13: Unilever, the British multinational consumer goods company, is reportedly planning to lay off around 3,200 employees in Europe by the end of 2025 as part of a major restructuring effort. The Unilever layoffs, which will likely affect approximately one-third of the company's office roles in the region, are expected to streamline operations and improve efficiency.

As per a report of Financial Times, Unilever is planning to reduce around one-third of its office roles in Europe by the end of next year. It is expected to be a part of the company's "productivity programme". The job cuts, which may affect primarily office-based roles, are not expected to include jobs in factories. Unilever has not yet officially decided where exactly the job cuts will happen in Europe. However, it is expected that most European office locations will be affected, especially the corporate centres in London and Rotterdam. As per reports, an executive advised staff to focus on improving the business and serving customers instead of worrying about uncertainties. He suggested using their energy to make the business successful. Unilever has around 1,28,000 employees around the world. The "productivity programme" which was announced in March to make their operations more efficient. As part of the programme, Unilever is reportedly considering cutting up to 7,500 jobs globally. It means that some employees may lose their jobs as the company tries to streamline its operations and improve productivity.
