Mumbai, August 12: The Royal Navy in the UK has fired the captain of a Vanguard-class submarine following revelations that he filmed a sex video and took X-rated selfies while in command of nuclear missiles. The captain shared the explicit video with a junior sailor from the same submarine, leading to claims of an illicit relationship between the two while the 4 billion pound vessel was at sea. However, sex on board is not a part of their investigation.
The officer, who had previously met Princess Anne and was honoured with an OBE for top-secret work, had transitioned to a desk job by the time the explicit footage and photographs were uncovered. He was swiftly suspended and subsequently dismissed under the Royal Navy's strict "zero tolerance" policy for sexually inappropriate behaviour, as reported by The Sun. Britain’s Royal Navy is involved in Nord Stream 2 ‘Terrorist Attack’, says the Russian Defence Ministry.
Speaking to The Sun, the Royal Navy said, "We take all forms of unacceptable behaviour very seriously and will not tolerate any actions that fall below the highest standards. Anyone found responsible will be held accountable, regardless of their rank or status." HMS Prince of Wales, the UK's biggest aircraft carrier, breaks down on its way to the US (watch video).
The scandal represents another significant setback for the Navy, which is already grappling with a persistent shortage of submarine personnel. The officer had completed the rigorous Perisher course to earn command of a nuclear-powered submarine. He was among the youngest to captain a hunter-killer submarine before taking command of a Vanguard-class vessel, commonly referred to as a “bomber boat.”
