London, October 2: In a tragic incident, a young father died from a brain tumour that doctors incorrectly diagnosed as appendicitis, his heartbroken family have claimed. Joshua Warner, 25, from south east London, in UK went to hospital in June after suffering from headaches and being sick for a fortnight. 

Shortly after undergoing surgery to remove his supposedly afflicted appendix, Josh’s condition deteriorated rapidly, reported New York Post. Feeling persistently unwell, he was readmitted to the hospital for another CT scan. The doctors claimed that the anomaly occurred due to ''an issue with the scan machine.'' It was only weeks later when he collapsed and was rushed to hospital that his brain tumour was confirmed. This diagnosis came less than 24 hours before the doctors revealed the grim truth: Josh had midline glioma, an aggressively malignant brain cancer with a life expectancy of less than a year.

Josh's brave battle against the odds was short-lived. Despite doctors giving him only three months to live, he died just 12 days after the diagnosis, under the care of Greenwich and Bexley Community Hospice.

Warner's family, who described him as 'kind-hearted' and an 'amazing dad', said they are sharing his story in the hopes that others won't suffer the same experience.  

A fundraising page had been set up to help support him through treatment, which will now be put into a fund for his son. His family is also in the process of filing a complaint against the hospital that misdiagnosed his illness and turned him away. A spokesperson for Darent Valley Hospital and Gravesham NHS Trust said the case was being examined.
