London, May 2: In a heartbreaking incident, a 22-year-old young woman from Orwell Park, Liverpool, in the UK, died of an accidental morphine overdose, revealed an inquest on Wednesday. The deceased woman suffered severe headaches and insomnia for a long time. On the day of the incident, she took morphine to ease the headache. She was found dead on the sofa by her mother.

According to the Mirror, the deceased, Grace Lewis Shaw, had been battling severe headaches and insomnia for weeks and months leading up to her untimely demise. Her mother last saw her alive, fast asleep on the sofa, before leaving the house for an appointment. However, upon returning, she discovered Grace unresponsive. A subsequent post-mortem revealed that Grace had succumbed to pneumonia and morphine toxicity. UK Shocker: 11-Year-Old Boy Participates in Viral TikTok ‘Chroming’ Challenge at Home, Suffers Apparent Cardiac Arrest and Dies.

As per the reports, it appears that Grace, suffering from a pounding headache on the morning of her demise, inadvertently ingested morphine - originally prescribed to her mother - to alleviate the pain. Her father, Michael, believes it was a tragic accident. "She woke up with a banging headache, entered the kitchen, and grabbed the tablets. It has just been an accident. That's what I truly believe," Micheal said.

Coroner Anita Bhardwaj concluded that Grace's passing was a result of death by misadventure. While the exact reason for her taking an excessive amount of morphine remains unclear, she likely sought relief from pain without fully comprehending the consequences. Whether she understood the potency of the dose remains a mystery. UK Shocker: Student Dies Using Two to Three 'Big Bottles' of Laughing Gas Everyday.
