Tokyo, June 6: Lawmakers in Japan have formed a group to investigate Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP), commonly known as UFOs, after multiple alleged "alien sightings". The Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Clarification League for Security-Oriented National Security has been set up as Parliamentarians push the government to track and investigate data on UAPs, which could be potential security threats.

According to the South China Morning Post, Yasukazu Hamada, the Liberal Democratic Party's head of parliamentary affairs, will chair the group. At the same time, Shinjiro Koizumi, a former environment minister and potential future prime minister, has been appointed secretary-general. Shigeru Ishiba, a former defence minister, will serve as an adviser. The panel includes Kei Endo, chair of the Japan Restoration Party in the House of Representatives, and Diet member Yoshiharu Asakawa, who have publicly claimed to have witnessed UAPs. UFO Sighting in US: 'Alien Spaceship' Surprises Spectators During Blue Angels Airshow in New York, Video Surfaces.
