Bangkok, September 27:A female factory worker in Sukhothai province, Thailand, tragically died after collapsing at work on September 13, just one day after her manager denied her request for sick leave. After her collapse, she was admitted to a nearby hospital and underwent emergency surgery, but sadly passed away the following day due to complications related to necrotising enterocolitis (NEC).

According to a report by Bangkok Post, The woman, identified as May, had been experiencing complications from an inflamed large intestine and had previously taken medical leave from September 5 to September 9, following her doctor's advice. After spending four days in the hospital, she was sent home, but her condition worsened. Fearing job loss, May returned on September 13 but felt unwell within 20 minutes. CEO Victor Cheng stated, “Our people are the foundation of our success, and we are devastated by this loss.” The company pledged to conduct a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding May's death and promised to publish the findings. Cheng emphasised the company's commitment to supporting the employee's family during this difficult time and assured that Delta Electronics would remain transparent and provide updates as more information becomes available.

"At this moment, we are still in the process of establishing the facts surrounding her passing and have initiated a thorough investigation. Our goal is to create a better understanding of the situation while ensuring we provide the necessary support to her family.
