Cape Canaveral, Feb 8: The cherry red Tesla Roadster sent to the space by SpaceX, via the world's most powerful rocket Falcon Heavy, has overshot its route. According to SpaceX founder Elon Musk -- whose own Tesla was used as the mock payload -- the car has penetrated into the deep space, instead of landing on the orbit between the Mars and the Earth.

As per the original plan, the car, used as a dummy payload, was expected to move in the orbit between the Mars and the Earth along the solar system. However, the car was pushed way ahead due to one of the final bursts of the rocket, adding extra momentum.

Although the failure to land the payload at the planned orbit raises questions over SpaceX's ability to execute the space-launch, it may end up drawing more private companies seeking its services.

Experts claim the market is anticipating for the private space explorers to examine ways through which the asteroid belt, located at the far edges of solar system, could be accessed. The asteroid elements, scientists believe, will lead to a new path of discoveries.

With the Falcon Heavy shooting the Tesla into the deeper space, the power of the SpaceX's premium rocket engine has been established.

Although the field of asteroid mining is considered to be nascent from research point-of-view, multiple reports have claimed that explorers are looking forward to use the the dwarf planet Ceres as the base for the launch.

As of now, however, SpaceX could not confirm whether the Tesla has reached the asteroid belt. Considering the size of the vehicle -- as compared to the elements in the space -- a clash is unlikely at this stage. However, it could not be ruled out when it enters the asteroid belt.
