Khartoum, August 15: Twenty-two people, including 21 school children reportedly lost their lives after their boat sank in the Nile in Sudan on Wednesday. The children were on their way to school, said media reports.

According to media reports, a woman was those among dead when the vessel drowned around 750 kilometres north of the capital city of Khartoum and had more than 40 children on board, reported the SUNA news agency.

The report has not mentioned the age of the children who have died in the incident. It is said that the boat sank because of a technical failure. Further reports are awaited.
