In a bid to stop fake news regarding serial blasts in the country, the Sri Lankan government is planning to temporarily block WhatsApp and Viber. Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena is likely to make an announcement for the same.

The blasts have also reported in different parts of the country. According to reports, six blasts have occurred so far, three of which were in Churches while the other three were in hotels. Kochikade Church, Katuwapitiya Church, Shangri La 5-star hotel, Cinnamon Grand Hotel, Kingsbury Hotel, and A church in Batticaloa have been targeted in the serial blasts. Casualties have been reported but the number is not yet confirmed.
The photos circulating in social media shows a disoriented Easter Sunday gathering at St Anthony's church and rubble from tiles of the roof scattered over the floor. According to intelligence reports, ISI is behind the serial attack.
