Lahore, July 11: Gulab Singh, Pakistan's first Sikh police officer, who was forcibly thrown out of his house in Lahore, has said that Sikhs were being forced to leave Pakistan, something that "didn't happen even in 1947". On Wednesday, Singh, reacting to the shocking manhandling he was made to go through, said, "The ill treatment meted out to me is for the world to see."
Singh, in an interview with ANI, said that his house in Lahore's Dera Chahal has been sealed and all his belongings, including his slippers, were inside. "Even this 'patka' on my head is an old rag which I just wrapped. I was harassed, beaten and my faith was disrespected," Singh said.

Singh was reportedly manhandled and forcibly evicted out of his house along with his family allegedly by the officials of Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB), the parent body of Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committ (PSGPC).
Singh, in the video which is being widely circulated on the social media, is seen crying foul over the behaviour meted out to him and his family by the ETPB officials. In the footage he alleged that he was thrashed, his turban was tossed and hair were untied, while he along with his wife and children were forced out of the house.
He also accused that PSGPC president Tara Singh was the main culprit behind the incident.
