Mumbai, October 3: Local authorities in the United States said that a swimmer was reported missing near California's Bay Area after he was allegedly attacked by a shark. The swimmer is believed to be attacked by a shark while he travelling for a wedding celebration. The swimmer is reportedly said to have been pulled underwater after being attacked by the shark near a remote area called Wildcat Beach.
As per a report in the New York Post, the 52-year-old man was allegedly pulled underwater at the southern end of Point Reyes National Park. The alleged incident is said to have occurred at about 10:30 am on Sunday. Although a rescue mission has been launched to search the "missing" man, the search was called off on Monday by the Coast Guard officials. As per the reports, the 52-year-old man was part of a part of a large group that was celebrating a wedding. After witnessing the group looking for the missing man, Edell, who was camping with her son, brought them to her campsite so they could call for help. The woman said that the group informed her that their friend who was out swimming was attacked by a shark. "They said he never came out of the water," she added. Soon, the Coast Guard was contacted, which then launched a search operation. The National Park Service said that the US Coast Guard suspended the search in the frigid waters on Monday morning. However, a ground search is underway. Meanwhile, officials have begun contacting the man's family.
