Mumbai, August 20: Two 16-year-old girls in UK's Bournemouth town, allegedly faced sexual assault by a group of men while they were on inflatable in the sea on August 12. The attack reportedly took place between 1.30 PM and 2 PM in the day, when the two girls were sitting on a lilo (an inflatable bed for floating on water) out in the sea off the beach, to the east Bournemouth pier.
As per multiple reports, the girls were out in the sea when they encountered a group of men approaching. The girls claimed they were "touched inappropriately" by these men. The girls reportedly then jumped off the lilo after the incident and made their way back to shore.
Police Investigations So Far
The Dorset Police urgently started the investigation on the alleged sexual assault. Following inquiries, it was ascertained that a 22-year-old man from London area was the main accused. On this incident, detective constable Hele Leech-Wilkinson of the BCP CID was quoted by a Mirror report saying, "We are continuing to investigate this incident and work is ongoing to identify two other men reported to be involved." The Dorset police further appealed to people with any related information to come forth and report. They also provided a telephone number to report any details of the incident.
