Seattle, November 14: A Seattle woman, Corey Burke, 33, is accused of killing her father, Timothy Burke, 67, with an ice axe on Election Night after reportedly suffering a breakdown triggered by the election outcome. Police arrived at the family's USD 800,000 home to find Corey, blood-covered, clapping and smiling next to her father's body. Burke, who works as a program manager for Blue Origin, Jeff Bezos' space exploration company, allegedly considered the attack an "act of liberation," according to police reports and court documents.
The incident reportedly stemmed from Burke's frustration with the 2024 election results, where she feared a win for Donald Trump over Kamala Harris, reported NYPost. Tensions between her and her father heightened when he refused to turn off the lights, which allegedly caused Corey to snap.
