Russian Saratov Airlines Plane AN-148 With 71 People Onboard Crashes in Moscow
As per reports, the Russian Saratov Airlines An-148 regional jet was en route to Orsk, a city lying close to the Russia-Kazakhstan border when it went missing.
Moscow, February 11: A Russian aircraft carrying 71 people onboard crashed after vanishing from radar screens as it left a Moscow airport for the Urals. As per details by AFP, the Russian authorities confirmed that the fragments of crashed airliner have been found.
The deadly incident, that took lives of 71 passengers, took place on Sunday. Initial information by Russian news agencies inform that 65 passengers and 6 crew members were on board.
As per reports, the Russian Saratov Airlines An-148 regional jet was en route to Orsk, a city lying close to the Russia-Kazakhstan border when it went missing.
“The airplane reportedly crashed outside Argunovo village [in the Moscow region],” the source told Interfax news agency. As per details by Russian Media, the plane crashed on the outskirts of the Russian capital on Sunday after taking off from Moscow's Domodedovo airport.
“The aircraft had gone missing shortly after take-off from Moscow’s Domodedovo airport”, reports said. The Antonov An-148 plane that went off the radar is operated by the domestic Saratov Airlines. The jet was flying to Orsk, a city in the Urals, and crashed in the Ramensky district outside Moscow.
