With all initial trends claiming the return of Narendra Modi-led NDA government at Centre, Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday sent a congratulatory telegram to Modi and his team.
Moscow/New Delhi, May 23: Hours after initial trends claimed the return of Narendra Modi-led National Democratic Alliance government at Centre, Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday sent a congratulatory telegram to Indian Premier in connection "with the convincing victory of the BJP at the general parliamentary elections."
In the telegram, he stated, "I am convinced that, as Prime Minister of India, you will further strengthen the centuries-old friendship between an all-around development of a particularly privileged strategic partnership between Russia and India." As the counting of votes is underway for the 542 Lok Sabha Elections 2019, Narendra Modi-led NDA is getting a clear majority and crossing the magic figure of 272 easily. Till the time the report was published, NDA coalition tally is leading the charts with 349 seats and more are coming in favour of the saffron alliance.
