Moscow/New Delhi, May 23: Hours after initial trends claimed the return of Narendra Modi-led National Democratic Alliance government at Centre, Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday sent a congratulatory telegram to Indian Premier in connection "with the convincing victory of the BJP at the general parliamentary elections."

Along with this, Putin confirmed his readiness to control fruitful personal contacts with Narendra Modi and to work together to build up the full range of bilateral relations and constructive interaction in international affairs.

Earlier, Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Japan's Shinzo Abe, Nepal PM K P Sharma, Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani, King of Bhutan Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and others congratulated Narendra Mosi for his straight second term victory in General elections.

As the counting of votes is underway for the 542 Lok Sabha Elections 2019, Narendra Modi-led NDA is getting a clear majority and crossing the magic figure of 272 easily. Till the time the report was published, NDA coalition tally is leading the charts with 349 seats and more are coming in favour of the saffron alliance.
