Jakarta, July 3: In a shocking incident in Indonesia, a woman who went missing was allegedly found dead inside the belly of a 30-foot python. The incident was confirmed by the police today, July 3. The deceased woman has been identified as Siriati (36). As per reports, Siriati went missing on Tuesday, July 2, after she left her house in the morning to buy medicine for her child, who was sick.
As she did not come back home, Siriati's family and relatives launched a search for her. Officials said that Siriati's husband, Adiansa (30), found her slippers and pants during the search. Notably, Siriati's slippers and pants were found 500 metres away from her house in South Sulawesi's Siteba village. A few minutes later, Adiansa spotted a snake about metres from the path. "The snake was still alive," a local police chief said. The snake is reported to have attacked Siriati when she was walking through the trees. The python is also reported to have crushed Siriati to death before swallowing her completely. Iyang, the secretary of the village said that Siriati's husband became suspicious when he noticed the python's "very large" belly.
Adiansa quickly called the villagers and sought their help to cut the python's stomach from where they recovered Siriati's body. This is the second incident of a python killing in the province in the last 30 days. Last month, a woman was found dead inside the belly of a 16-foot-long python in another district of South Sulawesi. On June 7, the woman's belongings were discovered near the Kalempang village. This led the villagers to capture and kill the reticulated python. After cutting the snake, the villagers found Farida fully clothed inside the python's belly.
