The government of Pakistan’s Punjab seized the JeM campus comprising Madressatul Sabir and Jama-e-Masjid Subhanallah in Bahawalpur. The move came just a day after the meeting of Pakistan’s National Security Committee (NSC) in Islamabad. According to reports of a Pakistan media, in the meeting decision was taken to uproot extremism from the society. Yesterday, Pakistan imposed a ban on two outfits of UN-designated terrorist Hafiz Saeed. Pakistan banned Hafiz Saeed-led Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) and Falah-e-Insaniat Foundation (FIF) under the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997. Saeed is the co-founder of the Lashkar-e-Taiba, which was responsible for 26/11 Mumbai attacks in which 166 people were killed. After the Pulwama attack which claimed lives of 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel, most the countries condemned Pakistan for providing safe haven to terrorists. The JeM is a Pakistan-based terror outfit having headquarters in Punjab’s Bahawalpur district. The terror outfit is headed by Masood Azhar, who was set free by the Indian government in 1999 after the Hijack of Air India plane.
