Princess Latifa had run away from the royal court of Sheikh Mohammed Al Maktoum in 2018, but her failed attempt came to an end when she was caught and brought back. As per reports by INSIDER, the woman who helped her plan the escape attempt was named Tiina Jauhiainen. Reports further suggest that Princess Latifa fled Dubai with the help of her martial arts teacher and a "self-styled former spy from France," but just 9 days later, Emirati commandos and the Indian coastguard caught up with them off the island of Goa, 1,780 miles away. After which she was brought back. It is said that they used force to bring her back and she hasn't been heard from in public after the failed escape. As per reports by BBC, Princess Haya Bint al-Hussein, the sixth wife of Dubai's billionaire ruler, Sheikh Mohammed Al Maktoum, is now hiding in London, UK and said to be "in fear for her life after fleeing her husband."

Sheikh Mohammed, 69, who is a billionaire racehorse owner and has often been seen conversing with the Queen at Ascot, has posted a furious poem on Instagram which is aimed at an "unidentified woman of treachery and betrayal". Princess Latifa said abuse forced her to flee the kingdom - and human rights groups claim she is being held in captivity in Dubai. Radha Stirling, Chief Executive of watchdog Detained in Dubai, said: "Whenever someone applies for political asylum, obviously, it is because their lives are in danger, and because they have suffered severe abuses and violations of their human rights," as per IANS.

"We already know that Princess Latifa, Sheikh Mohammed's daughter, fled the UAE seeking asylum and alleging unspeakable abuse at the hands of her father. "Now, it seems, Princess Haya, Sheikh Mohammed's wife, has also fled the country and sought refuge in Germany." She said there are now "serious questions" about what prompted Princess Haya to flee.

Claiming that she was tortured and detained for three years, Sheikha Latifa also revealed that she wanted to escape from the UAE in 2002 as a teenager. "If you are watching this video, it is not such a good thing. Either I'm dead or I'm in a very, very, very bad situation. They are not going to take me back alive," she said in the video.
