London, January 20: Seems as if the UK royalty is in the grip of car driving these days. Barely two days after Prince Philip, husband of Elizabeth II, survived a car crash, reports emerged of the Prince driving without a seatbelt. Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, Escapes Unhurt After Car Crash As Land Rover Flips.

The police is said to have spoken to the royal patriarch after pictures of the Prince driving his SUV without a seatbelt surfaced in the newspapers.

The Prince, who lives with his wife Queen Elizabeth II on the Sandringham estate, was pictured driving without a seatbelt in the estate on Saturday. The Duke of Edinburgh was driving his new Land Rover Freelander.

A Norfolk Constabulary spokeswoman said the force was aware of the photographs taken on Saturday and that "suitable words of advice have been given to the driver".

She said that "This is in line with our standard response when being made aware of such images showing this type of offence."

Just two days ago, the Prince was involved in a car crash near the country residence in eastern England, Norfolk. The dramatic incident saw the Freelander that the Prince was driving flip over. However, Prince Philip escaped unhurt from the incident, but was visibly shaken, said onlookers.

The other vehicle involved was a Kia which was carrying two women and a 9-month-old baby. The baby was safe but one woman sustained injuries on the knee and another broke her wrist in the accident.
