Sosnowiec, October 26: Polish bishop Grzegorz Kaszak was forced to resign after a priest in his diocese was accused of holding a sex party in his church apartment where a male prostitute lost consciousness after an overdose of erectile dysfunction pills. Kaszak was the head of Roman Catholic Diocese of Sosnowiec in southwestern Poland. The head of the Catholic Church and the sovereign of the Vatican City State, Pope Francis accepted Kaszak's resignation and he was dismissed from all functions on September 21.

As per Poland's state news agency, the parish of Grzegorz Kaszak was hit by a series of sex scandal in recent years. As reported by the news agency Reuters, a party attendee dialed for an ambulance after the sex worker lost consciousness. However, upon the arrival of paramedics, they were denied access, and it was only after the intervention of the police that the medical team was allowed to assist the individual. The priest who arranged the gathering in his church apartment was identified as only Father Tomasz Z. Pope Francis Rejects Migrant 'emergency' in Europe.

Though Kaszak was not accused of participating in the reported sex party but he was held responsible for the behaviour of the priests under him, reported New York Times. “I ask everyone to forgive my human limitations. If I have offended anyone or neglected something, I am very sorry", Kaszak wrote after his resignation.

 Pope Francis accepted Kaszak's resignation promptly .The Vatican however,  did not provide an explanation for Grzegorz Kaszak's resignation from his position as head of the diocese in Sosnowiec. Tomasz Z was eventually dismissed from his post as priest.
