Prime Minister Narendra Modi has embarked on a crucial visit to Stockholm where he will meet the Prime Ministers of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden as part of the first India-Nordic summit. The Prime Minister landed on Monday at the Stockholm Arlanda Airport accompanied by a business delegation. He was received by his Swedish counterpart Stefan Lofven and received a ceremonial reception. Modi's visit to Sweden marks the first visit of an Indian PM to the country in 30 years, after Rajiv Gandhi in 1988. A video shared by ANI has surfaced online, where PM Modi and Swedish PM Stefan Löfven are seen walking from Sager House to Rosenbad, in Stockholm.

On Tuesday, PM Modi will hold a bilateral summit with Swedish PM Lofven following which a number of agreements are expected to be signed between the two countries. Apart from holding extensive talks, India and Sweden will also co-host the first ever India-Nordic Summit, where, the Prime Ministers of the other four Nordic countries of Denmark, Finland, Iceland and Norway will also be present. Modi and Lofven are also scheduled to attend a round table of Swedish CEOs.
