PM Modi Japan Visit Day 2 Highlights: Congratulates Indian Diaspora For Making Brand India Shine, to Meeting Top Japanese Industrialists

Japan, October 29: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in Japan to meet his counterpart Shinzo Abe, as the two leaders sought to add new vigour to the strong friendship between the two countries. According to an ANI report, on Day 2 of his visit, he met some of the top industrialists, along with Japanese Foreign Minister Taro Kono,  Hiroshige Seko, Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, and the Japanese Venture Capitalists. While addressing the Indian diaspora, Modi congratulated the Indian community in Japan for taking 'brand India' to new heights by introducing cricket, Indian food and culture to the island nation, which has long worked with India in several sectors such as infrastructure, auto and technology.

He has been quoted as saying, "Just as how lamps light up the dark during Diwali wherever you are, you are spreading the light of India to every corner of the world and Japan and making the country proud. My best wishes are with you."

Indian PM said, "India is going through a massive transformative phase today. The world is appreciating India for its efforts towards services towards humanity. The policies being made in India, the work being done towards public welfare, for these the nation is being felicitated today."

He further added, "Make in India has emerged as a global brand today. We're manufacturing quality products not only for India but for the world. India is becoming a global hub, especially in the field of electronics and automobile manufacturing. On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi presented Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo with a special gift! The Prime Minister gifted his Japanese counterpart two handcrafted stone bowls made from rose quartz and yellow quartz stone and hand-woven Dhurries by the weavers of Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh. These bowls were specially crafted on the occasion of the Prime Minister's visit to Japan for the India-Japan annual summit. This is PM Modi's 12th meeting with Abe since he first visited Japan as prime minister in September 2014.
