Mumbai, September 8: Vincent Van Quickenborne, Belgium's justice minister, recently issued an apology over the alleged "Pipigate" scandal. Issuing an apology, the justice minister of Belgium told the parliament on Thursday that he was unaware that three of his friends had allegedly urinated against a police vehicle. The bizarre incident had taken place during a party at his house.

According to a report in Reuters, Vincent Van Quickenborne also denied joking about the incident. The local media in Belgium dubbed the incident a "pipigate" after leaked security camera images showed three guests of Vincent Van Quickenborne allegedly peeing against a police van which was assigned to protect the minister's residence. The alleged incident occurred during Vincent Van Quickenborne's 50th birthday celebrations. As per reports, while a few guests peed against the police van, others took photos. Initially, the justice minister denied the incident taking place outside his residence. However, Vincent Van Quickenborne soon apologised after leaked footage showed Belgium walking outside his residence on the day of the incident.

The CCTV Footage also showed Vincent Van Quickenborne reportedly leaning back and "pretending to pee". After the incident came to light, the local media in Belgium dubbed the scandal "pipigate" and "pee-gate" in English. At the parliament hearing, Van Quickenborne apologised and said he was unaware of the incident. "I am ashamed that people I invited at my house peed against a police van, not once, but three times. It is disgusting, especially considering why the van is there," he said. Meanwhile, Opposition politicians blasted Van Quickenborne over the alleged "Pipigate" scandal.
