Pakistan’s First Sikh Police Officer Gulab Singh Forcibly Thrown Out of House in Lahore, Says Officials Tossed His Turban, Untied His Hair; Watch Video
According to a recent video released by ANI, Singh has been heard saying that he was forced to open his turban and later his hair was untied. "My turban was forced open & hair was untied. This is how Sikhs are treated in Pakistan", Singh said.
Lahore, July 10: In a shocking incident, Pakistan’s first Sikh police officer Gulab Singh was forcibly thrown out of his house in Lahore's along with his wife and kids by officials of Pakistan's Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB). According to a report by TOI, Singh was forcibly evicted from his house over a property dispute from his house in Dera Chahal village which is situated about 28 kilometres from Lahore city.
It must be noted that the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) is the parent body of Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (PSGPC). According to a recent video released by ANI, Singh has been heard saying that he was forced to open his turban and later his hair was untied. "My turban was forced open & hair was untied. This is how Sikhs are treated in Pakistan", Singh said. He was heard pleading to the police saying, 'at least give us 10 minutes we are staying here since 1947.
According to a report by TOI, Gulab Singh alleged that ETPB secretary Tariq Wazir had allegedly thrashed him. The report also quoted Singh saying alleging that PSGPC president Tara Singh along with Indian Sikh fugitives currently taking shelter in Pakistan. He informed that they had collected donations of Rs 10 to Rs 15 crore from the Sikhs of UK, USA, Canada etc on the name of development of Bebe Nanki Gurdwara but didn’t spend a single penny.
