Pakistan Says India Conducted 'Grave Violation' of LoC, Promises to Retaliate After IAF Drops Bombs on JeM Terror Camps in Balakot, Muzaffarabad, Chakothi

Islamabad, February 26:  Pakistan has said that India conducted a violation of the Line of Control (LoC) and that Pakistan reserves the right to an appropriate response, hours after the Indian Air Force (IAF) conducted airstrikes on the Pakistani soil across the LoC in Muzaffarabad, Balakot and Chakothi destroying JeM terror camps to avenge the Pulwama terror attack on Indian CRPF jawans. Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, who summoned an emergency meeting to review security measures after the Indian Air Force (IAF) operations on Pakistani soil in a pre-dawn strike on Tuesday, said that India has committed "aggression" by violating the LoC and Islamabad has "right to respond". However, Balakot police chief said that the area where IAF Mirage jets dropped bombs were barren and empty areas. His remarks came after combat jets of the Indian Air Force (IAF) bombed terror camps at multiple locations across the Line of Control (LoC) on the Pakistani side in a pre-dawn strike. Pakistan President Dr. Arif Alvi said that Pakistan's armed forces are determined to overcome all challenges and that "Pakistan knows how to protect their country."

Pakistan Defence Minister Pervez Khattak said that "violation of the line of control by India is unacceptable to Pakistan army and people of the country and safety."

"All responsibility to sabotaging peace in the region will be on India," said Pakistan's Minister of Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan, Asmat Ali Amin.

Prime Minister Imran Khan is also chairing an "important meeting" to discuss the situation, said reports.
