Norway: Man Dies After Falling From Famous Preikestolen Cliff Aka Pulpit Rock That Featured Tom Cruise's 'Mission Impossible' Movie

The police have launched an investigation into the incident and are treating it as a "fall" accident. Thommesen also ruled out the involvement of a criminal angle in the incident.

Mumbai, June 6: In an unfortunate incident in Norway, a man allegedly died after falling off the Preikestolen cliff featured in the "Mission Impossible" movie. The Preikestolen, also known as "Pulpit Rock" in English, is a 1,981-foot (604-meter-high) cliff located in southwestern Norway and overlooks the Lysefjord. Nina Thommesen, police attorney, confirmed the incident.

The police attorney said that a man in his 40s died on Monday, June 3, after falling off the Preikestolen cliff, reports CNN. Nina Thommesen further said that the deceased man was travelling alone. Meanwhile, cops said they are "reasonably certain" of his identity. The police have launched an investigation into the incident and are treating it as a "fall" accident. Thommesen also ruled out the involvement of a criminal angle in the incident. As per the report, the police questioned two people who were eyewitnesses to the incident. One of them said that the deceased man slipped and fell off the cliff.

The Preikestole is the cliff in Niorwat from where the man fell and died. In English, the Preikestole is known as the "Pulpit Rock". The "Pulpit Rock cliff is said to be one of Norway's most famous mountain hikes.
