New York City reportedly witnessed its first weekend without a shooting or a homicide in 25 years. The information was shared by the New York Police Department on Monday.

The last time that New York City saw a Friday-Saturday-Sunday which had no shooting event recorded was in the year 1993. This data includes all the five Burroughs of New York City.

New York City Police Department (NYPD) Chief James O' Neill, while talking to the reporters said that the city went without any shootings and homicides on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The officer added that this is the first time in decades that it has happened and it is something for all New Yorkers to be "proud" about.
