Netflix Urges Viewers Not to Call Ted Bundy ‘Hot’

Toronto, January 29: Video streaming service Netflix has had to remind viewers that Ted Bundy was a brutal serial killer and who should not be viewed as a subject of attractiveness. The streamer released Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes, a four-episode docu-series about the serial killer which has renewed interest in the fable of the convicted serial murderer.
The trailer and promotions have got everyone talking about Bundy, who was executed 30 years ago in Florida. There’s also another movie starring Zac Effron as Ted Bundy called Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, directed by Joe Berlinger which made its debut at the Sundance Film Festival. These two back-to-back shows on Bundy have led to increased chatter on social media and many conversations have focused on the serial killer’s looks and charisma.
This seems to have led Netflix to gently remind its viewers: "I’ve seen a lot of talk about Ted Bundy’s alleged hotness and would like to gently remind everyone that there are literally THOUSANDS of hot men on the service — almost all of whom are not convicted serial murderers," the statement read.
Effron’s portrayal of the serial murderer is a reminder that Ted Bundy used his charm and looks to ensnare his victims, got them to trust him before brutally murdering them. Bundy confessed to 30 murders before his execution but law enforcement authorities believe that the actual number was higher. Two journalists, Stephen G. Michaud and Hugh Aynesworth took it upon themselves to conduct a death row interview with Bundy. A book too was published which went by the name, Ted Bundy: Conversations with a Killer (The Death Row Interviews).
Ted Bundy was executed in Florida in January 1989 but his legend continues and he is considered one of the most vicious serial killers in the history of US law enforcement.
