Kathmandu, July 21: The Government of Nepal has announced the end of nationwide lockdown imposed in Nepal since March 24, 2020. This development was confirmed by the Government of Nepal spokesperson, Dr Yuba Raj Khatiwada. The decision will come into effect from Tuesday midnight. The public transportation services will also be resumed from July 23.
"Admission in schools will be allowed from August 17. Restaurants and hotels will be allowed to open (no party/big events allowed). Tourism and expedition events for autumn to resume," Khatiwada said. Nepal's COVID-19 Tally Rises to Nearly 18,000.

Meanwhile, Nepal registered 150 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, taking the total tally to 17,994. The Kathmandu Vally has reported eight infection cases. Notably, no COVID-19 fatality has been reported during the last 48 hours period.
The domestic and international flight operations in Nepal will resume from August 17. "All flights will be operated by following special health and safety protocols," Shiva Maya Tumbahangphe, the Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, said.
