Nazia Hassan, the Pakistani singer who gave chart busters like "Disco Deewane" and "Boom Boom" and also known as the "Queen of Pop" in South Asia would have celebrated her 53rd birthday. But if you thought that music was all that it was to Nazia's personality, you are mistaken. She was also a lawyer and social activist and a graduate of Richmond, The American International University and University of London. She was only 15 years old when she sang the super hit song "Aap Jaisa Koi" from the film Qurbani which went on to become one of the most popular pop songs in Hindi films.

Though she died at a young age of 35, she left behind a rich legacy of music and memories. The pop sensation from Pakistan and Asia was also the first Pakistani singer to find herself on the British Charts when she sang the English version of her famous song Disco Deewane titled "Dreamer Deewane."

Here's remembering the artist through some of her videos and live performances she gave:

The famous Aap Jaisa Koi was offered to Nazia by late Indian film actor and director Feroz Khan, when the director met Nazia at a party in London. The dynamic director got in touch with the music director Bindu in London and arranged for Nazia to sing the song which became a cult classic.

The song "Boom Boom" created a sensation in both India and Pakistan. Nazia was also the first artist from Pakistan to win the Filmfare award in India. The song can still be heard in gatherings in India when re-mixed party songs are played.

Another rare video of the singer also known as the "Nightingale of Pakistan" and who was termed as the "Golden Girl" by Indian  Press in the 80's.

Nazia formed a formidable pair with her brother Zoheb Hassan and the brother-sister duo went on to create history. Google has honored Nazia by dedicating a doodle to her on her 53rd birthday. Google Doodle has described her as an inspiration for the girls growing up in Pakistan in the 80's. She died at the age of 35 due to lung cancer but her music will keep her alive, forever.
