It has been celebrated since the year 2012 with a goal to encourage the registering online for voting. The midterm elections in November are about 6 weeks away so the need to register online is more important. Search giant Google also marked this day with a doodle, saying 'Register to vote.' The page leads to how to register to vote. There are sites to help with registration online based on a person's state. It gives information on eligibility to vote and also update information related to your profile. Social media also had the important message about voter registration. Celebrities and organisations spread the need to register before the midterm elections. How to register online to vote?

The main website where one can apply is usa.gov/register-to-vote. There were several platforms which redirected back to the government's website to check upon the voter status. This website gave all in detail information about the voting rule in different states.

The website vote.gov will ask you to enter your territory and you can fill in the details and register yourself.

Twitter ran a campaign with #NationalVoterRegistrationDay on the user timelines. It had a link and a text message option to register to vote.

Snapchat, a platform used by many youngsters today was also a part of it. They posted a link to register in a user's profile page.
