Washington DC, September 7: A 22-year-old mother in Memphis, Tennessee, United States, was recently arrested and charged with child abuse and child neglect after her 6-year-old son allegedly carried a loaded gun to school. The alleged incident occurred on Thursday, September 5, after a resource officer informed police about a student bringing a handgun to school.
In an official statement, the Memphis Police Department said that another student alerted the school staff about the firearm. The recovered gun was found to be a loaded 9mm Ruger handgun, reports People. Soon after the staff was alerted, a teacher recovered the weapon from the minor student's bag. After the incident, the 6-year-old boy's mother, Ke’Erinie King, reportedly admitted the gun was hers.
