U.S. First Lady Melania Trump feels she is the most bullied person in the world. The FLOTUS issued this emphatic statement in an interview with ABC News during her recent trip to the African continent.
Talking about her Be Best initiative, which concentrates on the issue of cyber-bullying, the United States first lady said, "I could say that I'm the most bullied person on the world," the first lady said. "You're really the most bullied person in the world?" asked presenter Tom Llamas. "One of them - if you really see what people are saying about me," Melania Trump said. She added, “That's why my Be Best initiative is focusing on social media and online behavior."
According to a report by E Online, Melania, while speaking with an ABC News correspondent, also mentioned that there is a need to prepare the children in this regard. "We need to educate the children of social-emotional behavior, so when they grow up they know how to deal with those issues," she said.
ABC on Thursday released clips of the interview ahead of a longer piece set to air Friday. Melania was heavily scrutinised for her attire during her tour of Ghana, Malawi, Kenya and Egypt. She was especially criticised for her use of a white pith helmet while on safari in Kenya which drew comparisons to a 19th-century British colonial administrator.
In rare comments to the press before departing Egypt, the FLOTUS said she wanted "to talk about my trip and not what I wear."
Trump was also asked if she is the U.S. President’s gatekeeper. "Oh, I wish," she said, laughing. She said she does not trust some people who have worked in the West Wing, and that she has given her husband her "honest advice" about them.
When asked if her husband and U.S. President Donald Trump would be running for re-election, she said, "I believe that my husband is doing an incredible job for this nation and I want the American people to have success, so whatever he will decide I will support him."
Reflecting on her time in the White House, Melania stated, "I really love to live in Washington and in the White House and, yes, I'm enjoying it." (With Agency inputs)
