Meghan Markle had been fuelling pregnancy rumours amidst her first major international tour in Australia as a duchess. Meghan and Harry have arrived in Sydney today for the start of a 16-day visit to Australia, Fiji, Tonga and New Zealand. It is their first international trip as the Dutch and Duchess of Sussex, which will officially begin tomorrow and will see the couple watch the Invictus Games, visit Sydney zoo and rural Flying Doctor service, as reported by Mirror. The speculation was sparked when Meghan Markle’s tour schedule indicated she would not be doing a climb over the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Confirming on the news, Kensington Palace wrote: “Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019.” In another tweet, the Palace wrote: “Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public.”
