Air Capital Drop Zone, a Kansas-based skydiving company, stated that Gallagher was booked to document skydiving activities that day. Following a landing, while the next group of divers was boarding the Cessna 182 aircraft, Gallagher reportedly moved in front of the wing and stepped backward into the spinning propeller while focusing through her camera. Authorities, including the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board, are investigating the circumstances of the accident. Cook Airfield confirmed her death but refrained from speculating on potential causes or safety lapses.

In the aftermath of her passing, a GoFundMe page has been created to support Gallagher’s funeral expenses. She is remembered as a skilled photographer who documented her own travels and the adventures of others in skydiving.
