Mumbai, August 7: Frank Carillo, a man from Virginia was charged on Friday, August 2, for issuing threats to kill US Vice President Kamala Harris. Carillo made the threats on GETTR, a microblogging platform, days after Harris launched her presidential bid following US President Joe Biden's decision to drop himself out of the presidential race.

According to court records, Frank Carillo posted a series of messages that targeted US Vice President Kamala Harris. In his posts on GETTR posted on July 27, Carillo said that he would set Harris on fire. "Kamala Harris needs to be put on fire alive I will do it personally if no one else does," his post read. In another post, Carillo said that "Harris is going to regret ever trying to become president". US Presidential Election 2024: Kamala Harris Holds First Rally With Newly Announced VP Pick, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, in Philadelphia.

He also threatened to pluck out her eyes with a pair of pliers if she became President of United States. "But first I will shoot and kill everyone that gets in my way that is a f****** promise," Carillo wrote. The court documents also revealed that Carillo shared messages directed at FBI Director Christopher Wray and President Joe Biden.

After his arrest on Friday, 45-year-old Carillo was produced before the US District Court in Roanoke. He is facing a federal felony charge that could land him behind bars for up to five years. During the police raid, FBI agents found a RF-15 rifle and 9 mm handgun at Carillo's residence. The court's filings also revealed that the accused asked an officer if it was "about the online stuff" he "posted". US Presidential Election 2024: Kamala Harris Picks Minnesota Governor Tim Walz As Running Mate.

The investigation by FBI revealed that Carillo posted nearly 20 violent threats that were directed at Kamala Harris. The threats also included warnings to kill her and her family besides other plans to inflict severe physical harm. His July 27 post on GETTR also stated that he wanted Harris to suffer a "slow agonizing death."

The threats against Harris and other US officials comes nearly a month after former US President Donald Trump was attacked last month during his rally at Pennsylvania.
