Mumbai, September 29: Amid the ongoing tension between India and Canada, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's office on Wednesday issued a statement denying the alleged claim that his plane was "full of cocaine" when he recently came to India to take part in the G20 Summit in Delhi. "This (is) absolutely false and a troubling example of how disinformation can make its way into media reporting," his office said in a statement.

The clarification by Justin Trudeau's office comes after an alleged claim floated by a retired Indian diplomat stated that the Canadian PM's plane was "full of cocaine" when he arrived in Delhi for the G20 Summit. The retired Indian diplomat reportedly made the claim during a TV discussion. The bizarre claim, which was widely reported by several news channels and media outlets, comes amid the ongoing row between the two countries. Canadian PM Justin Trudeau Regrets Parliament’s Standing Ovation for Man Who Fought for Nazis.

Justin Trudeau's Plane Had Cocaine?

Notably, former Indian diplomat Deepak Vohra, during a TV discussion, claimed that there were "credible rumours" that sniffer dogs in the country reportedly found cocaine on Canadian PM Justin Trudeau's plane. The former diplomat also stated that Justin Trudeau did not attend the G20 dinner as he was "high on cocaine"

Deepak Vohra, who was a former Indian ambassador to Sudan, also said that the Canadian PM "didn’t come out of his room for two days". "He didn’t go to the president’s dinner. People say he was in a drug-induced stupor," Vohra claimed. He also said that when his wife spotted Justin Trudeau at Delhi airport, he looked "troubled". Canada Serious About Building Closer Ties With India, Says PM Justin Trudeau Days After Alleging Indian Govt's Hand in Killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar.

Speaking on the show, Vohra said, "He has become lonely. He is now trying to show that he is a Canadian Rambo and nothing can go wrong in his presence. India has done the right thing by suspending visa services in Canada." Amid the ongoing tension between the countries, Canada and India have removed each other's senior diplomats after Justin Trudeau said there were "credible allegations" of India being involved in the death of Sikh leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Canada.
