Mexico, May 28: In an unusual case reported from high above the sky, a Japanese man died in a flight on Monday while travelling from Colombia's Bogota to Tokyo in Japan after swallowing 246 packets of cocaine. The 42-year-old man has been identified as Udo "N". He had a seizure after the commercial flight from Bogota made a stopover in Mexico City, said the prosecutor's office for the state of Sonora (Mexico). "Flight attendants noticed a person suffering convulsions, and requested permission to make an emergency landing in Hermosillo, Sonora. The postmortem report found that the man had swallowed 246 packets of Cocaine, also known as coke, each measuring 1 by 2.5 centimetres. The packets were in his stomach and intestine as per the autopsy report. The statement mentioned that he died due to brain swelling which was caused due to a drug overdose.

Transporting narcotics inside the human body is a popular smuggling tactic with drug manufacturers. Meanwhile, after the deceased body was removed and all the international protocols were completed, the Aeromexico plane carrying 198 other passengers resumed its flight.
